Save the Date: Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern

We’re excited to announce that Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola will be the featured speaker at the National Family Court Watch Project Community Open House on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern.

Dr. Christine Marie Cocchiola is a nationally recognized therapist, author, parenting coach for protective parents navigating coercive control, divorce and custody coach, and co-founder of the International Coercive Control Conference (ICCC). With nearly four decades of experience, she specializes in supporting adult and child victims of coercive control and narcissistic abuse. Her work focuses on helping survivors before and after separation, navigating the family court system, and protecting children from the effects of coercive control.

As co-founder of the International Coercive Control Conference, Dr. Cocchiola has helped advance international education and collaboration on coercive control by bringing together researchers, mental health professionals, legal professionals, advocates, and survivors to deepen understanding and improve responses to coercive control across systems.

During this special presentation, Dr. Cocchiola will discuss:

  • Understanding coercive control and why it is often overlooked.
  • How coercive control impacts children and families.
  • The weaponization of children in “high-conflict” custody cases.
  • Recognizing and responding to malicious fracturing of attachment (MFA) and coercive parenting.
  • How professionals, advocates, and community members can better support protective parents and children.

Whether you’re a student, parent, survivor, attorney, mental health professional, judicial professional, advocate, researcher, volunteer, or community member committed to improving the family court system, you won’t want to miss this important conversation.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration through Eventbrite will be required, and additional details will be announced soon.
