Giving Tuesday

Dear friends, on this Giving Tuesday,

Every day, family courts make decisions that shape a child’s entire future, where they will live, whether they are safe, and which parent can best protect them.

Yet most of these hearings happen behind closed doors. The public rarely sees what happens, and no reliable national data shows whether families are being treated fairly or safely.

Families deserve better.

For 20 years, the National Family Court Watch Project has trained volunteer observers to document real hearings in real courtrooms. This work creates independent, research-based data that reveals patterns, identifies risks, and highlights both problems and best practices that protect families.

This Giving Tuesday, your gift will:

1️ Expand Court Observations
More documented hearings = more transparency, accountability, and insight into how courts impact families.

2️ Fund Data Publication
Collecting, entering, analyzing, and publishing current data is essential. Policymakers, courts, and the public can’t act on what they can’t see.

Our 2025 Goal

Document 100 new family court hearings and publish updated findings that can drive meaningful reform nationwide.

Your Impact

  • $25 provides materials for one court observation
  • $50 trains a student observer
  • $100 supports data entry and analysis
  • $250+ funds advanced SPSS-based analysis and publication of our findings

When data is visible, families are safer.

Your Giving Tuesday donation ensures that what happens in family court doesn’t stay hidden — it becomes knowledge, accountability, and a catalyst for change.

Please give today.

With gratitude,
The National Family Court Watch Project
