BOARD OF DIRECTORS OPPORTUNITY
National Family Court Watch Project (NFCWP)
Mission
We gather and publish data and insights to advance stronger family court policy and practice to protect children and families.
Overview
The National Family Court Watch Project (NFCWP) is seeking members for its Board of Directors. This is an active, working board that will guide the organization’s next phase of development.
We are building a small, engaged board to support governance, visibility, sustainability, and the responsible use of research and data.
Organizational Background
Over the past two decades, NFCWP has conducted court observation efforts to understand how family court processes function in practice.
Our most recent structured study spanned more than four years. Including pilot work, hearings have been observed across 13 states.
In total, approximately 3,000 hearings have been observed, with more than 1,500 records entered into our database and additional observations in process. Data coding and analysis represent the next phase of this work.
For Fall 2026, NFCWP will partner with John Jay College of Criminal Justice to support an externship program, with students observing support hearings in New York.
